Thanks for visiting. Good luck in finding your way around Cocoa. I love it, but it is a different way of thinking. Even for iPhone developers, I still recommend Aaron Hillegass's Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X as the best starting point. It's getting a little dated, but it continues to be the best reference I know. I've also heard good things about the Stanford online course through iTunes U, but I haven't checked it out myself yet.

I'm new to the Cocoa environment and Obj-C language, and i have some C++ and web dev. background. Thought that I don't have any authority technically or pedagogically I share the same feeling towards the iPhone Cookbook. I had a extremely frustrating and even traumatic experience w/ this book. it just throw causally intrinsic concepts like Delegations and Notifications in the firsts few pages. But I'm more relieved after reading your review and opinion about its approach.

I'm having some hard time trying to find a good material that makes smooth landing on the UIKit jumping from Foundation and cli practices.

Great blog, Happy that I found it. And sorry for the poor english.
